Alcatel just did their moves with the new Idols– S, Mini, and Alpha; and the phablet Hero. But the attack never ends here as the French company also aimed to the entry-level scenes with the One Touch C-Pop Series. The C-Pop series smartphones named C1, C3, C5 and C7 are all running Android 4.2 Jellybean, have 4GB internal storage (expandable via microSD) for photos, music, and other media files. All are curvy and each has range of colors to offer while targeting the preferences of the young and even young-at-hearts.
Pop C1 is the smallest in the line. The screen is just 3.5-inch and the resolution is HVGA 480×320. Under the hood is a dual-core 1 GHz processor. At the back you found 2-megapixel cam unfortunately there’s no LED flash for low-light photography. The C1 will limit your use under the 1,300mAh battery capacity and not suite for powerhouse gaming.
Pop C3 is larger with 4-inch WVGA display (800×480 pixels) statement. Enjoy taking moments as it comes with 3.2-megapixels camera plus a front-facer shooter. The 1.3 GHz dual-core processor is under the hood while the capacity of battery is only 1,300mAh (I hope this for 1,500mAh to power a device with 4-inch WVGA display). Alive also is the Bluetooth 4.0 for file transfer.
Pop C5 is far ahead from the first two as it is boasting 4.5 inches with an 854×480-pixel resolution. Alcatel claiming that handset’s display supports 16 million colors compared with the 265,000 colors of the C1 and C3. The C5 is equipped with 5-megapixels camera plus a VGA camera as a front-facer. As for the battery the C5 has just enough 1,800mAh capacity to entertain user. There’s 4 GB of internal storage yet it is expandable up to 32GB via external memory card.
Pop C7, the largest among the bunch. The Alcatel’s One Touch Pop C7 is 5-incher, and has same C5’s 854×480-pixel resolution. At the back 5-megapixel camera is sitting that can record 720p HD video; while on front is the usual VGA shooter for video chat. The device is backed-up with a generous 2,000mAh battery but that’s now a common thing for today’s smartphones.
Ooops! Did I mention this with a power of quad-core processor? Ha-ha you’ve heard it right. The C7 is competitive with its CPU clocked at 1.3 GHz speed to entertain you well-enough.
Alcatel made the release dates and prices unannounced. Even the places for global distributions are not mentioned at the event. However, we can assume that the costs of these devices are budget-friendly knowing all the mention details are commonly see for low-ender smartphones.
